FOX 2 NEWS DETROIT- reports 11 yr old boy was shot by his own brother with a gun that was purchase by their mother.

"This is the first time we ever purchased a weapon or thought about even getting a weapon because we are scared of weapons," said mother Tamika Rushing.

Miss Rushing told the police she recently purchased the rifle to protect her home.

"I purchased the weapon to protect my son because he was attacked and robbed, the 17-year-old, and beat with a pistol, and the boy got off and beat the case. So, that's why the weapon was purchased," Rushing said.

She said the shooting was all a big accident.

"They (were) cleaning out the closet. It was an accident that happened. The older brother was terrified because his little brother was hit," said Rushing

"He will be fine. So far, he was just shot in the buttocks," Rushing said. "Please pray for me family and pray that both of my boys will be safe."

When ask why her 17yr old son ran, she explained:

"He panicked and he cried when he (saw) his brother hurt, and he ran because he panicked because he (has) never been in jail a day in his life," said Rushing.

Doctors say eleven yr boy will fine.
